entrance to the mary keller seabird rehabilitation sanctuary

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the bird boardwalk at the Mary Keller Seabird Rehabilitation Sanctuary during your trip to the Marine Science Center.

While the treatment areas for sick and injured birds are not open to the public due to the delicate nature of their care, you can still see several birds along our boardwalk. These birds, which are permanently impaired and unable to be released, serve as ambassadors for their species.

Experience an up-close encounter with our resident pair of bald eagles and observe various shorebirds, including brown pelicans and great black-backed gulls. To find the bird boardwalk, simply follow the signs to the entrance located on the west side of the Marine Science Center parking lot.

After your visit to the boardwalk, make sure to explore our new Raptor Education and Conservation exhibit in the main building. This exhibit features several rescued, rehabilitated, and non-releasable raptors, offering a unique insight into these magnificent birds.
