Oceans of opportunities

Whether you are interested in caring for animals, presenting educational programs, working at special events, or just lending a helping hand, the Marine Science Center has a place for you.

Volunteers regularly assist Marine Science Center staff in a variety of ways:

Tour guides
Volunteer tour guides educate the public and school groups

Animal care
Volunteers assist staff at the sea turtle rehabilitation hospital, Mary Keller Seabird Rehabilitation Center and more

Special events
Volunteers provide special event assistance and support, such as the annual Turtle Day event

Aquarium maintenance
Volunteers are needed to help maintain fish, coral aquaria and other live animal exhibits

Oceans of Opportunities
Volunteers are needed to help with a wide range of needs ranging from help with aquarium motors and life support systems to general carpentry and maintaining the trails, boardwalks, and physical plant.

Adult education programs
Volunteers assist with adult education programs as guides and educators

Volunteers help welcome visitors to the Marine Science Center

Summer camp
Volunteers assist with preparations and instruction for our Summer Camp Program

To complete our volunteer application, visit Volunteer Volusia and complete the application. Make sure when you are signing up to volunteer, you select the Marine Science Center from the list of choices.
