Rehabilitated birds to be released Monday
The Mary Keller Seabird Rehabilitation Sanctuary will release a bevy of birds at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Lighthouse Point Park, 5000 S. Atlantic Ave., Ponce Inlet.
The birds include two brown pelicans, a royal tern, sanderling and several laughing gulls. After weeks of nurturing, treatment, and practice flights in the sanctuary’s new flight cage, staff determined it was time for them to move onward and upward.
Since opening in 2004, the bird sanctuary has treated more than 18,000 birds, many of which were released back into the wild.
