2008 Summer camps

Join us next summer for this extraordinary opportunity to learn all about this unique ecosystem. The Key’s experience is a four day, three night trip that includes lectures, labs, boating trips, and snorkeling in a variety of marine habitats. Students learn about coral reefs, mangrove and sea grass ecology, the natural history of a variety fish species, and participate in plankton tows and nighttime astronomy lessons.

The Marine Explorer Camp

The Marine Explorer Camp offers a week of environmental education including laboratory instruction and outdoor activities such as squid dissection, shark ecology, kayaking, boating, snorkeling, fishing, and seine netting. Students will learn all about Volusia County’s wildlife, habitats, and the importance of preserving our natural resources.

The Master Marine Explorer Camp

The Master Marine Explorer Camp is a four-day program designed for Marine Explorer Alumni. Students continue their study of the animals and the environment through laboratory instruction and outdoor activities including deep-sea fishing, shell studies, kayaking, snorkeling, and other environmental programs.

The Keys Explorer Camp

The Keys Explorer Camp is an outstanding opportunity for any student in grades 6 - 12 that is interested in marine biology, ecology and adventure. This four-day, three-night trip includes lectures, labs, boating trips, and snorkeling in a variety of marine habitats. Students will learn about coral reef, mangrove, and sea grass ecology, the natural history of a variety fish species, and will participate in plankton tows and nighttime astronomy lessons.
