School field trips to the Marine Science Center

Our mission

To provide an innovative learning experience where visitors can discover, enjoy, and appreciate the many wonders that embody the world of marine science in Volusia County.

Our programs

Our School Field Trips offer four different components; a tour through the exhibit gallery, a visit to the Sea Turtle and Seabird Rehabilitation areas, and a educational program beside the Ponce Inlet at Lighthouse Point Park beach.

  • Kindergarten through twelfth grade can be accommodated. Field trip curriculum covers a range of environmental topics from endangered species to Florida ecosystems.

  • The programs offered coordinate with curricula objectives of Sunshine State Standards.

  • Students will have an opportunity to make purchases in our gift shop with approval from teacher. Please let the coordinator know when registering if your school wants shopping time.

  • Field trips are not offered June 1 thru August 14.

To secure your reservation, please email Shell Webster, Field Trip Coordinator at MSCEDU@volusia.org with 3 possible date choices for your field trip. She will email you back with the best fit according to the MSC schedule and class size. Once the date has been reserved, follow the instructions in the email to complete registration for your class.
