School field trips to the Marine Science Center 

Due to popular demand, the Marine Science Center cannot accommodate additional field trips this school year. Field trip information for the school calendar year 2018-2019 will be posted at a later date.

Our mission

To provide an innovative learning experience where visitors can discover, enjoy and appreciate the many wonders that embody the world of marine science in Volusia County.

Our programs

Our school field trips offer six different programs that can accommodate kindergarten through 12th grade students and are coordinated with Next Generation Standards. Field trips are not offered June 1 through Aug. 14.

Our school field trip programs are as follows:

  • Marine Science Center Exhibit Tour
  • Eco Walk
  • Raptors Live
  • Marine Cephalopod Encounter/Squid Dissection
  • Estuary Program/Seine Netting
  • Plankton/Water Quality Lab

Our programs

To secure your reservation, please check available dates through the link entitled "Current Program Availability" below and email Shell Webster, Education Program Coordinator, at with school and grade information, class size, two possible dates and program choice. Once the date and program has been approved, a registration form will be sent to the teacher to complete the registration. Be sure to follow the checklist to make sure all forms and instructions are followed.
